This was the first time we worked alone together in the studio, although we had already made an earlier shoot for Juventus Magazine. With no assistants, the space became more intimate and the dialogue between Emily, the ropes and the camera could unfold with unusual continuity.
The session begins with soft, sinuous figures around the hashira. The green dress follows the curves of the body and emphasizes Emily’s grace and flexibility, while the first tensions gradually establish the rhythm of the images.
The shoot then moves into increasingly intense rope torture: the dress opens, the postures become more demanding and the body is carried through deep arches and extreme shapes. This progression reveals Emily’s character, stamina and enjoyment of such challenging ropes. The final portraits return the scene to a focused stillness, leaving the traces of the experience on her face.
