This session grew from a shared moment of research in an empty studio, with Marta Tenshiko tied and photographed by Federico Kirigami. The starting point was an unusual arm harness built around the closure of the elbows and inspired by a photograph by Nureki Sensei. With no assistants present, the atmosphere became intimate and solitary: only the dialogue between the two of them, the ropes and the light on the tatami remained.
At first, the sober dress and still poses preserve an almost formal distance. The sequence then becomes more intense through tension, inversions and suspensions. The fabric slowly opens to reveal her shoulders, while the vulnerability of the body and Marta’s expressions move to the centre of the story.
