This series with Marta Tenshiko began as a photographic study of light and shadow. Body, rope and weights gradually emerge from the darkness as the images follow the slow intensification of the ishidaki.
The suffering builds over time and becomes a cathartic experience, lived and shared by two people united by deep love and intense passion. More than documenting a test of endurance, the shoot explores the trust, attentiveness and intimacy that make it possible to move through it together.
