This was our first shoot with Camelia and one of her earliest experiences of semenawa. The visual study grows from the contrast between white lingerie and black hair, shaped by raking light that alternates illuminated areas with deep shadow.
The studio is reduced to its essentials, without constructed sets or photographic props. What remains is the wooden beam, the rope and the tied body: a small number of elements that turn chiaroscuro into the structure of the images and place the body’s weight in relation to the solidity of the beam supporting it.
