Shibari Events

Rope Tales organizes high-level shibari events with Italian and international guests. You will find shows, demonstrations, performances, cultural and educational events, as well as moments of socializing and relaxation with the other members of our association. Shibari events in Milan

The location for our events in Milan is Yugen Studio. The venue features more than 40 tatami mats, wooden beams and hashira — vertical wooden pillars.

Yugen Studio is therefore the perfect setting for high-level shibari performances.

In the same space, we also organize bondage parties where our members are free to socialize and tie, if they wish to do so.

Significant shibari events

Since 2021, Rope Tales has organized events with some of the most important Japanese masters and international guests.

Among others, we have hosted:

• Sugiura Norio and Miho Ikeda, for a photography workshop
• Akane, an iconic Japanese model sought after by some of the most renowned photographers, filmmakers and rope artists
• Murasaki Haruan, for a cultural event on the philosophy of shibari according to Master Yukimura Haruki
• Kinoko Hajime, who taught a class on web-shibari and gave a performance at “Ronin” in Via Canonica
• Ren Yagami, founder of a new style of rope tying

In any case, our greatest pride is being able to give our students the opportunity to perform in a highly prestigious setting even after taking their first steps. Often, these performances are among the most genuine, carried out by amateur rope artists tying with their own partner.

Social evenings

Sociality is a central theme in shibari culture. For this reason, we also organize social situations that allow people who are passionate about this discipline to meet one another. Some of these evenings also include important cultural themes, such as focus groups on consent led by Dr. Anna Castagna, or Ichinawa classes by Marta Tenshiko. Remember that each party has its own rules, and we invite you to read them carefully.
